She was born in Ikeja, Lagos, southwest Nigeria, to Igbo parents. She is the second child in a family of four. Her father’s name is Air Commodore Samson Omeruah.

Chigul completed her primary education in Lagos, Nigeria and received her first school leaving certificate. After completing her primary education, Chigul attended the Air Force Secondary Schools in Jos, Plateau State in northern Nigeria and completed her secondary education at the Secondary Air Force Schools in Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria, and received her West African High School diploma.

After completing her primary and secondary education, Chigul attended a university in Nigeria before leaving Nigeria to study abroad. At the request of her father, she studied criminal justice at a university in the United States of America. The course was unsuccessful for her and she left the course after two years to study French at Delaware State University in the United States.

Chigul is a linguist and speaks a number of languages, including Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba, French and English. She returned to Nigeria after twelve years in the United States. She first became a singer under the stage name C-Flow, but the name was later changed to Chigul.

Chigul speaks with a strong Igbo accent. She was interviewed and praised by a number of media. She had given a TEDx lecture and was featured as a cartoon character in the Nollywood film Road to Yesterday, which was produced and released in 2015.

In 2017, she starred with RMD, Adesua Etomi, Banky W and Prince Jide Kosoko in the Nollywood blockbuster movie “The Wedding Part”. In 2015 she appeared in a cameo and guested on the hit single “Karishika” by Falz. In 2017, she starred in another Nollywood blockbuster movie “Banana Island Ghost”. Chigul was married, but her marriage ended in divorce without having children together.
