NET WORTH: Daniel Kanayo Daniel popularly known as Daniel K Daniel is a famous Nollywood actor, television personality, model, voice actor, event manager and philanthropist. He was born on May 22, 1986 in Maiduguri, Borno, northern Nigeria. He originally comes from Enugu state.
He grew up in a Christian house. His father Chris Daniel was an engineer and his mother Kande Daniel was a radio journalist and former president of the Nigerian Journalists Association. He currently serves as special advisor to the Nigerian Minister of Media Affairs. He is the first child in a family with four children.
Daniel K Daniel attended Command Children School in Enugu, Nigeria and received his first school leaving certificate. During his elementary school days at Command Children School, Daniel K Daniel directed the drama and debating club of his elementary school. He was very intelligent and always at the top of his class.
After completing elementary education, Daniel K Daniel attended Command Day Secondary School in Enugu in 1996 and was transferred to the Federal Government College in Enugu in 1999, where he completed his secondary education and received his West African Senior Citizenship Certificate.
Daniel K Daniel had the desire to be trained as a pilot because he had three exemplary fighter pilots in his family. His foster-grandfather, (later) Air Marshal Ibrahim Alfa, was Nigeria’s former chief of the air staff, while his three uncle John Chukwu, Air Vice Marshal Chris Chukwu and Shu’aibu Alfa were squadron leaders in the Nigerian Air Force.
His hopes of becoming a pilot were dashed when he was diagnosed with “myopia” (nearsightedness) and told that it would be difficult to accomplish his vision as a poor-sighted pilot.
At that time, his father moved to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, while his mother moved to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Abuja.
In 2004, he was admitted to Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra, Nigeria, to study Applied Biochemistry. In November 2004, Daniel K Daniel became depressed after losing his father in a terrible car accident and becoming the first child in the family to grow up quickly to become the man of the family.
In 2005, his family moved to Abuja after the death of his father in Port Harcourt, while continuing his studies at Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Awka, where he began his professional career as a model.
In 2009, Daniel K Daniel graduated with a BA in Applied Biochemistry from Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Awka, Anambra State, Nigeria. After graduating from university, he decided to run his uncle’s business “Twinkles Catering Service,” a popular restaurant in Gusau, Zamfara state in northern Nigeria, for four months.
Daniel K Daniel began his career as a model while still a student and made a few television commercials for Zandas Cosmetics. When he returned from university to Abuja, he participated in some runway shows, including the Abuja Moroccan Fashion Show.
After one of the shows, a supermodel named Steiner Eunice Opara dragged Daniel K Daniel to an audition. The directors at the audition were impressed with his talent and gave him his first acting job in 2009 on the television series “All About Us”.
He was then cast in a BBC movie titled “Sarah’s Choice”, a film by Mark Kusare in which he starred with OC Ukeje, Seun Dada and Sylvia Oluchi. Following the success of “Sarah’s Choice,” Daniel K Daniel took on the role of antagonist in the film directed by Izu Ojukwu, “The Child,” in which he starred with Joke Silva, Alex Usifo, Bukky Ahyi, and Wole Ojo. In February 2010, Daniel K Daniel took a break from his newly formed acting career to complete his National Youth Service, which is compulsory for graduates of the Nigerian University. He then worked as part of his national youth service at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abuja, the federal capital territory of Nigeria.
