NET WORTH: Odion Jude Ighalo, popularly known as Odion Ighalo, is a famous Nigerian football professional, entrepreneur and philanthropist who currently plays as a striker for the Chinese club Changchun Yatai and the Nigerian national team Super Eagles. He is currently one of the best and most outstanding players in Nigeria and one of the most successful footballers in Africa.

He was born on 16 June 1989 in Lagos, southwestern Nigeria and grew up in  Edo ,southern Nigeria.  His current jersey number is 9.

Ighalo was born in the state of Lagos and grew up in the state of Edo. There he was spotted by FIFA agent Marcelo Houseman, who recommended him to Atta Aneke. He was then tried by Lyn from Norway.

On 16 September 2007, at the age of 18, Ighalo made his debut in Tippeligaen and scored a 2-0 home win over Viking. In his second year he scored six goals in 13 games to help his team to seventh place. Later he became interested in other clubs in the country, and Brann reported Lyn to the Norwegian Football Association for unfair bargaining.
After Ighalo had started his football career with Prime and Julius Berger, he moved in 2007 to Norwegian Lyn. A year later, Ighalo was hired by Udinese and spent most of his term in Granada, before he competed in 2014 for Watford professionally in China with Changchun Yatai.

On July 30, 2008 Ighalo signed a contract for Udinese in Italy and agreed to a five-year contract. In his first season, he rarely played in Serie A and met in a 6-2 home win against Cagliari. While playing for Udinese, four of his five league games came as a replacement later.

In the summer of 2009, Ighalo was awarded Granada under the partnership agreement between Udinese and the Spaniards. During his time in Granada, he scored 17 goals in his first year and 5 goals in his second year as both seasons ended in promotion.

Ighalo continued to play in the following years with Granada, which was still in the possession of Udine. On 27 August 2011, he played his first game in La Liga. In a 0-1 home defeat against Real Betis he started and played the full 90 minutes.

On July 29, 2014, Ighalo Watford joined Udinese as part of a loan deal. He made his debut on 12 August 2014 in the first round of the Football League Cup in Stevenage for the English club and scored his first goal in the championship against Brentford on 30 September 2014, pushing the ball home after a penalty from David Button to 2: 1 home win.

On October 24, 2014, Watford revoked Ighalo’s loan and re-signed it the same day after Udinese had released him from his contract. On January 31, 2017, Ighalo joined Chinese Super League club “Changchun Yatai” for a fee of £ 20 million.

After a series of strong performances for Watford, newly appointed Nigerian interim coach Daniel Amokachi first selected Ighalo for the Nigerian national team (Super Eagles) on March 24, 2015. He won his first cap two days later, starting with a 0-1 friend defeat to Uganda.
In 2016, he was named as one of the three above-average players in the Nigerian squad for the 2016 Olympic tournament in Brazil. In June 2018 he was appointed to the 23-member squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. In the 0-2 defeat in the group stage against Croatia he played his first appearance in this competition with a playing time of 73 minutes.
