Yemi Osinbajo completed his primary education at the Corona Elementary School in Lagos, Nigeria, and received his first school leaving certificate in 1975. After completing his primary education, Yemi Osinbajo went to Igbobi College in Yaba, Lagos, Nigeria and received his West African diploma Senior School Certificate. During his time at Igbobi College, he was awarded the 1971 State Merit Award.
He also won in 1972 the School Award for the English Oratory and from 1972 to 1975 the Adeoba Prize for the English Oratory. In 1973, he received the Elias Prize for Best Performance in History at the West African High School. After completing secondary education, Yemi Osinbajo went to the University of Lagos and graduated in 1978 with a bachelor’s degree in law with an upper secondary level. During his studies at the University of Lagos, he also won the Graham Douglas Prize for Commercial Law.
In 1979, he completed compulsory one-year vocational training at Nigerian Law School and was admitted to the Nigerian Supreme Court as a lawyer and attorney. In 1980 he attended the London School of Economics and Political Science, where he received a master’s degree in law.

Yemi Osinbajo began to teach at the age of 23 as a lecturer at the Law Faculty of the University of Lagos. From 1988 to 1992 he was appointed Legal Advisor to the Attorney General and Minister of Justice Bola Ajibola.
